Captain Impostor is almost finished, so I’m working on screenshots and other promotional materials. Last night I took over 400 screenshots, then spent a few hours deciding which nine to use. Some were fired, some were big losers, but by the final leg of this amazing race it was clear that the tribe had spoken. Nine contestants screenshots were chosen, but one stood far apart from the pack. I present to you, in wallpaper form, The Coolest Screenshot:

    Unless something goes horribly wrong it should be out next week. Hopefully Tuesday (Monday in the US).

    I love the entire series! Bought the game since the moment I saw Forever released. I look at this page weekly for any tidbits of fun news, or release information! Think you could drop us any cryptic hints about any new game play features in Impostor, to tide us over for the weekend?

    If you look at the top, it says something about “clone power at Juliet level”, and “(shift) clone/declone”. any idea what thats about?

    Well, it’s called “Imposter”. Hmmm… imposter… clones… WHAT IS THIS NEW GAMEPLAY MECHANIC?? (not sarcasm, it could actually be lots of things)

    maybe the new game play mechanic allows you to clone your vessel into other ships or other “levels” maybe high levels constantly attack lower levels and by cloning into them it allows you to sneak around giving it the impostor reference.

    It might also be the new Import/Export feature.

    I doubt that. Why call it ‘clone’ if it’s just an export feature? Plus I don’t think it’s likely that that would get an overhaul anyway.

    It probably is just a way to turn your ship into a clone of a ship at whatever level you’ve reached… Or something like that. Or not like that. Who knows.

    Seeing as how we’ll all know the answer in just a few days, I think we can all just wait and find out.

    Any plans on submitting Captain Forever to Newgrounds? All the greats have started there, Canabalt, Time Fc*k, and VVVVVV. Its a fantastic way of getting it spread around and getting feed back from hundreds of thousands of users.

    Sorry, was away all weekend.

    @Vince – I already gave you guys a better import/export feature!

    @Thomas – In future yes, I will get around to spreading CF love around the flash portals. I figure I’ll only get to do that once though, so I’m waiting until there’s more value in the supporter package before doing this.

    @Everyone Else – I was aiming for a release tomorrow, but things got a little hectic towards the end of last week. I’ll still try to get it done, but if that fails (and you don’t hear anything else from me) then you might have to wait an extra day.

    Hello Farbs I’m a new supported of CF and CS and am Eagerly awaiting CI I was wondering how development has gone? This is my 1st post so please forgive me if i’m asking something that exists in another form somewhere on the site. I was wondering if the captain series would ever head to become a multiplayer experience?

    Hi Will,

    CI development was _supposed_ to take less than a month, however a lot of non-development things popped up and stalled the process. I also spent more time on actual development tasks than I had expected, but as a result the game is much cooler than originally planned.

    I very much want to do a multiplayer episode, but it’s a surprisingly large amount of work and in that time I could otherwise do some very interesting things with a single player episode.

    I’m taking a holiday after CI, so I’ll think about it then.
