Where in the world am I? I’m in Australia, and occasionally that’s a good thing. It’s particularly sweet when I enter Captain Forever in the GDC China Independent Games Festival, since said festival is limited to countries in the Asia-Pacific region. CF made finalist, so I’ll be showing it and possibly previewing Captain Successor in Shanghai this Sunday. Come say hi if you’re in the area

I’m in the area! (But I’ve been told I’m not allowed to spend our food budget on going to Shanghai).
I’m so used to GDC being something that’s too far away to pay much attention to that I didn’t even know about IGF China until a couple of days ago. And now I’ll probably have to wait for the next one.
@Andrew – No, I haven’t met Yahtzee yet. The dev communities here tend to be quite isolated due to geographical blah-de-blah. I think he’s in Brisbane, which is a pretty long way from my home in Canberra. I’m trying to attend more interstate meetups though so I may meet him in THE FUTURE.
@Farbs – Better not mention Captain Forever; he might rip it to shreds! (I doubt he’s like that in real life, but I would still be pretty nervous when talking to him about any game, mine or EA’s).

It was awesome demoing the game to so many live people. For one particularly cool session a couple of guys played coop. One flew the ship while the other built and reconfigured with the mouse. It took a bit of coordination between them, but they were able to rebuild and reconfigure right in the middle of a firefight. Incredible stuff. Has anyone else tried this?
I’ll post up some cameraphone pics when I get back, including a shot of the prizemoney cash brick.

New blog post soon, I promise. IGF submission deadline is next week so I’ve been working pretty hard for that. The good news is that Captain Successor is shaping up rather well (in my opinion at least).
great game! it deserved to win! i just bought the game no more than 20 mins ago, and it was hard to pull myself away from it to write this post!
