Quest for Bachish

Captain Anachronism

Hail! Dost thou seek the Captain Forever trailer music? Heavens be! I happenstance carry a copy in this fine pouch.

Andrew Leys finally finished tweaking the music last week, so now we can bask in his moog-love splendour. This version is about four times as long as the trailer soundtrack and sounds so very much nicer. If you’d like to hear more of Andrew’s music in Captain Forever then be sure to let me know. His payment is props and criticism, and I need more nice words to feed him.

I’d love to hear this track and more like it in the game, perhaps you could work with him and do a contextual music track setup.

I hear it’s what all the cool kids are doing nowadays.

Nostalgic and futuristic at the same time, I love it :D

  3. Andrew says:

I love the intense panning that is in this track. It’s so great to hear those little beeps move back and forth over my speakers.

  4. Tom says:

More music in this vein, please. Andrew Leys, you’re on the right track (pun intended).

  5. Andrew says:

One thing I don’t get is why there’s like, a minute of extra space at the end? Is that a cheap way to do looping?

  6. Adam says:

The music is awesome. I might try and make music in a style like this for my next composition coursework at school

  7. Bob says:

    Oh geez, oh man!

    Thank you!

  8. Chris says:

Of course I’d love to hear more!!!

  9. booml says:

Definitely more like this! I think it fits the retro-futuristic style quite well.

I feel silly… this made me cry.
This made me remember the old days of the Amiga. You know the ones. Chris Huelsbeck comes to mind. So many memories… truly a perfect melancholic fitting for the game.

Now that I heard it, the game wouldn’t be right without more music from this dapper gentleman.
You just made a stranger over the internet nostalgic.

  11. Farbs says:

Cheers everyone. Andrew told me today that he’s working on a new track. Woo!

  12. Tom says:

this sound is awesome it’s a great job i love to hear this track!
this sound has “something” of the sounds of daft punk.
nostalgic and futurist at the time : wonderful.

  16. Zebreu says:

The music is amazing! So please include it in your game! I just tried it, and was saddened when I saw that the music was ONLY in the trailer. So yes, more of it, your game will become a full-fledged masterpiece then!

  17. Acquisition says:

This is incredible. Please DO put it in the game- it fits beautifully.

  18. Dylan says:

SO GREAT. If this is in Captain Forever I’ll be buying the full release. More in the game would be epic. This song is right up there with the World of Goo soundtrack in greatness.

  19. Farbs says:

I’m not sure the music will make it into the game any time soon – bandwidth starts to become a huge problem with things like this. You can always run the music via a different application in the background though. Anyhow, I’ll keep posting tracks as Andrew decides they’re finished.

  20. Anon says:

Reminds me of Philip Glass’s work. I love it!

  22. DrazharLn says:

I downloaded this on the day you posted it, I must have listened to it at least 60 times now (hell, I’ve played it 5 times today!).

I love it and have searched in vain for any other work by Andrew. Thanks for the brilliant track and good luck in making the next, Andrew.

I really hope Farbs can come up with some way to get this into the game.

  23. Copperhaze says:

    That is the shiznit!

  24. Nirrti says:
