ARTS!

Sometimes I hear a call. No, not a call. An urge. It’s… primal. From deep dark depths well overwhelming desire. Desire to create. To recreate. To render.

Then I do some programming.

Pacman has something to tell you

Want to know if William David quit his job? Play this game, which he sent around his office earlier.

Wait… haven’t we done this already?

William’s take on the matter is a little more sentimental and a lot less brash than my own, and I really like it. Actively “jumping” off the cliff was quite stirring. Congratulations William, and good luck.

I’m doing it wrong

Hi folks, I’m alive! I was snowboarding all last week, and I figured you wouldn’t want to hear about my first butter 360. You might also not want to know that my helmet saved my life, especially if you’re my mother. Hi Mum!

I’ve been thinking about the whole pay/play schemozzle, and I’m really warming to the idea of holding content aside for supporters. Supporters would pay a single $20 to access all souped up versions of the game and other content that follows. I’ve just started building the site (www.captainforever.com – so I guess the name is official now), and I realized I should run the supporter area and billing system a bit before full release. I’d offer a discounted supporter rate, and in return supporters would get to play the free version of CF before the rest of the world. What do you think? Would you be interested?

In other project news, indie superstar Brandon McCartin (or BMcC to TIGSource folk) has offered to lend me his awesome audio talents. I’m super excited to hear what he comes up with.

Finally, Freeplay. If you’re in Melbourne this weekend pop down to the State Library to hear me talk about leaving your job, and watch me muck about with pig entrails as I try to predict where the games industry will be in five years.
